In selected periods, our medically certified fasting guide Annegret Mitschke will accompany you on an 8-day fasting week at the Waldhotel Tannenhäuschen, during which you will not only do something good for yourself and your health, but also find the decisive relaxation of a fasting holiday in our spacious AQUA SILVA Spa. We have put together a special package with all services for you, which you can book with us in the following periods.

During the fasting week, you will recharge your batteries every day on hiking tours through the beautiful nature of the Lower Rhine, learn interesting facts about the health effects of fasting and the influence of our diet on our well-being - and lose a few pounds along the way. Annegret will guide you gently through the fasting week and also show you how you can integrate effective relaxation techniques and fitness exercises into your everyday life.

You are also welcome to book additional extra nights before or after the fasting week. These are ideal for an additional relief day before fasting (recommended: abstaining from stimulants and light food) or a build-up day after fasting (recommended: light, vegan food). Your fasting guide - Annegret Mitschke introduces herself.

Annegret already has 25 years of fasting experience and expertise as a medically certified fasting instructor from the German Fasting Academy (dfa e. V.).

It was important to her to underpin her passion for fasting with sound training so that she can accompany her fasting guests with expertise and empathy. She knows exactly what effect fasting has on the body, mind and soul and what it takes for you to enjoy your fasting break in peace and mindfulness.

For Annegret, fasting in a group is a supportive community that is both inspiring and motivating and helps you to overcome minor crises. At the same time, you have enough space and time for yourself to switch off from the constant togetherness. Annegret is at your side at all times during the fasting week so that you can feel safe and accompanied.

Therapeutic fasting - Special features & course of the Buchinger drinking cure.

Fasting is one of the oldest natural healing methods and can help to prevent almost all diet-related disorders. It is particularly aimed at healthy people who want to lose weight by cleansing the intestines or who want to utilise the structuring power of fasting for themselves. Fasting is also often used as a basis for rethinking the current diet and lifestyle in order to subsequently adopt a healthier lifestyle.

There are many different ways of fasting, but we are focussing our fasting week on the Buchinger fasting cure. In this pure drinking cure , the body is not given any solid food during the fast, but only liquids in the form of teas, water and broth. The Buchinger fasting cure is essentially divided into three phases:


1. relief phase

The body is slowly prepared for the period of fasting and the diet is changed to a light diet. Staples such as sweets and coffee are gradually removed from the diet, nicotine and alcohol are taboo. Sufficient fluids in the form of water, broth and teas should be consumed and the body should be mentally prepared for the upcoming days of fasting. Banish stress and hectic from your everyday life!

The day of arrival (Sunday) is a day of relaxation. You are welcome to book an additional day of relaxation by adding an extra night to your fasting week. Otherwise, if possible, try to take one or two additional detox days before you arrive home.


2nd detox phase

On the Monday of your fasting stay, the detoxification phase begins with a Glauber's salt ceremony, which initiates the detoxification of the intestines. From now on, food intake is restricted to liquids such as herbal teas with honey and vegetable broths. Naturally, under the supervision of your fasting guide, care is taken to ensure that the body is supplied with sufficient minerals.

The detoxification phase is accompanied by plenty of exercise in the fresh air, group walks and targeted relaxation exercises. You will find the perfect complement to this with a personal wellness treatment or relaxation time in our spa area.

An example day of a fasting week:

08:00 a.m.: Morning tea
08:30: Early morning exercise
09:00 am: Fasting talks
09:30 am: Hike
13:00: Juice or vegetable broth
13:30: Lunch break and liver wrap
14:00 - 18:00: Time for yourself (e.g. wellness)
18:00: Vegetable broth or juice
19:00: Fasting talks / lecture / relaxation


3. breaking the fast/restorative days

Towards the end of the fasting week, we start the first build-up day on Saturday. Ceremonially, we enjoy the first solid food after the conscious renunciation with a flavoursome apple from the regional fruit farm. In order not to overtax the body after this time, we slowly start to integrate light food.

Here too, you have the option of booking an additional build-up day in addition to your stay at the Tannenhäuschen. Allow your metabolism to slowly resume its work and, if possible, try to avoid stimulants such as sweets for a little longer. You will realise that the fasting period has sharpened your senses and your sense of pleasure.



After this week, you will feel reborn. Fit, energised and full of joie de vivre, you will be able to tackle life's challenges with ease.
