Dear construction diary,

The time has finally come and we can reopen on 17 June 2021. We are over the moon and so excited! But as you can imagine, there's still a lot to do before then. The Am Tannenhäuschen has been in a really long slumber and we want everything to be perfect for our guests by the time we reopen.

The tables and chairs are now in place in the new park restaurant so that nothing stands in the way of our evenings together with lots of great food. The anticipation and excitement for the long-awaited date is growing day by day! The countdown is on ...

01.05.2021 - "Renovation fever has gripped us."

Dear construction diary,

There are still no prospects of an opening in sight. But burying our heads in the sand is not an option for us. Quite the opposite - we are motivated to make everything even more beautiful for our guests and that is why the forest continues to expand.

Do you remember our "Rhine" room, which has so often hosted successful conferences and wonderful family celebrations? This will continue to be the case in the future, but with a new forest carpet. We just hope so much that we will soon not only open the doors of our renovated wellness bistro to the spring sunshine, but also finally to our wonderful guests. It's time to fill the Tannenhäuschen with life again.

31.03.2021 - "New forest path in the spa area."

Dear construction diary,

Can you still remember our old corridor to the AQUA SILVA Spa? Full of anticipation for a wonderful spa day, our dear guests walked down the dreary corridor to the spa area. We had to change that! Even the way to the spa should make the heart leap and provide relaxation. With our new forest path, our spa visitors can now enjoy the special atmosphere and tranquillity of the hotel right from the start.

11.03.2021 - "Finishing touches in the park restaurant."

Dear construction diary,

Despite the disappointing and incomprehensible measures taken by the federal government to prevent our Tannenhäuschen from reopening, we are not burying our heads in the sand but in the new park restaurant and our wellness area. The new lamps and the beautiful curtains in the restaurant were installed with great attention to detail. The chairs and tables are also slowly finding their place again. A great surprise awaits our guests in the wellness area. Pssssst, we'll let you in on it: A forest path is being created in the old wellness corridor. It's going to be sensational!

02.03.2021 - "The effort was worth it!"

Dear construction diary,

We've made it! Only a few details are still missing and then the new wellness bistro will be complete. The most striking new features are the beautiful forest-look wallpaper, the special counter and the unusual chandeliers. We love the change and hope that we will soon be able to welcome our guests to the new bistro.

23.02.2021 - "The new wellness bistro is taking shape."

Dear construction diary,

We have been waiting for this moment. After months of continuous building work and complete demolition, the new bistro is becoming more and more like we imagined. Firstly, the floor was completed. This involved spreading the screed and laying the new vinyl flooring. Then the wallpapering could begin. We couldn't believe our eyes ... the new forest wallpaper is an absolute eye-catcher. You can't get much more of a forest atmosphere than that. But then yesterday a huge lorry drove up and delivered the "interior" of the future wellness bistro.

The new counter is currently being installed and a first sneak peak shows the incredible design - counter walls made of tree bark. Now we can say: "The forest is moving into the Tannenhäuschen." The aim is to complete the renovation by the end of the month. We still have 5 days left - do you think we can do it?

14.02.2021 - "The forest floor carpet moves in."

Dear construction diary,

In keeping with the forest theme, the new carpet has been laid in the park restaurant. The forest floor look and colours are a perfect match for the Am Tannenhäuschen. The skirting boards are made from the carpet and professionally refurbished. We are really looking forward to the final result.

12.02.2021 - "The first deliveries reach the Tannenhäuschen."

Dear construction diary,

We are over the moon today because our new restaurant and bistro tables have finally been delivered. The tables have a natural oak top and are beautiful. Before they are assembled, they will be varnished twice.

Do you remember our great new design floor in the fitness room? Before it can be laid in the wellness bistro and SPA reception area, a primer must first be applied. This involves applying a compound that hardens after a certain amount of time and forms an even surface. The drywall in the bistro kitchen is ready so that we can start with the tiling work.

24.01.2021 - "The old tapestries are given a fresh design."

Dear construction diary,

A marvellous highlight was created today in the park restaurant. Our lovely Christina has glued on tree discs of different sizes by hand. We think it's an absolute eye-catcher.
And you won't believe how many discs were used - 3000 - amazing!

19.01.2021 - "The renovation work is creating visible changes."

Dear construction diary,

Today we don't even know where to start. We are most pleased about the progress in the bistro and the fitness room. The bistro ceiling has been fitted with new insulation including a vapour barrier. Now it will no longer be so cold in winter and so hot in summer. The vapour barrier also prevents moisture from penetrating the insulation.

We particularly like the new flooring in our AQUA SILVA Gym.

11.01.2021 - "With attention to detail."

Dear construction diary,

While we can't do much on the large construction sites in the wellness bistro and park restaurant and have to let the builders do their work, we have started to create some Tannenhäuschen details. These will later be used to clad the radiators.

We are also currently wallpapering the wellness corridor and laying the screed.

05.01.2021 - "New year, new Tannenhäuschen."

Dear construction diary,

The new year has barely begun and things are already busy again in the Tannenhäuschen. The walls in the corridor of the wellness area are dry and will soon be painted. The wellness bistro is also unrecognisable. Further demolition work has taken place. Preparations have been made in the floor for the new electricity and waste water connections for the new bistro counter. In the next few days, a channel will also be dug to bring more electricity into the new bistro and the electrician will lay the first cables. It remains exciting!

22.12.2020 - "Amazon green in the park restaurant."

Dear construction diary,

It's time for something new. The park restaurant is making a start and is getting a new wall colour. Striking, daring and extravagant but particularly beautiful - or what do you think? We are already looking forward to the feedback from our guests.

In the wellness area, the beautification measures are also in full swing, but more on that in a few days' time.

15.12.2020 - "Everything has to go..."

Dear construction diary,

Today we realised that a lot is really going to change and we have to say goodbye to our old wellness bistro and park restaurant. The demolition of the bistro is complete and the carpet in the restaurant has been removed. In the wellness area, the walls of the wellness corridor have been freed from the "trowelled plaster" and made smooth.

Just imagine, the walls have been stripped down to the foundations. Our Am Tannenhäuschen hasn't seen this much dust, dirt and loud work for a long time.

02.12.2020 - "Here we go! The remodelling preparations begin."

Dear construction diary,

We have been in a deep sleep since the beginning of November, as tourist overnight stays are once again prohibited due to the measures adopted by the German government. Thanks to our loyal Tannenhäuschen guests, we are not losing heart and are giving our all every day so that the Tannenhäuschen will soon shine in new splendour.

All the restaurant chairs were collected today. Over the next few weeks, they will be extensively refurbished and upholstered with beautiful new fabrics that will fit in perfectly with our new concept.

28.10.2020 - "The Am Tannenhäuschen 2.0 renovation concept is ready!"

Dear construction diary,

After months of planning and sleepless nights, the new Tannenhäuschen concept is finally ready. As a reminder of the original state, we have photographed the central remodelling areas again and are now looking forward to what is to come!

In the next few days, all the specialist companies will be commissioned for the remodelling. Despite all the joy and excitement, there is still uncertainty as to whether there will be a second lockdown. If so, how long will it last? Will we be able to celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve together with our guests? If not, how can we make everyday hotel life and our wellness oasis pleasant and without restrictions for everyone despite the construction site noise and dirt? One thing is certain: we will find a solution!
