A moment we have been working towards for a long time - and which now fills us with real joy: The Waldhotel Tannenhäuschen has officially been awarded four stars superior according to the German Hotel Classification of DEHOGA Nordrhein.
The official inspection by the DEHOGA inspectors took place on 9 April 2026 - and the result speaks for itself. The four-star superior classification is the highest level within the four-star category and stands for a level of performance that is significantly above the standard: in service, facilities, comfort and hospitality.
What does this award mean?
The DEHOGA hotel classification is the official quality system of the German hotel industry. More than 200 criteria are tested - from room facilities and the wellness area to service and catering. The superior rating is only awarded if a hotel already fulfils the requirements of the next higher category in significant parts.
For us as a wellness hotel on the Lower Rhine, this award is more than just a seal. It is a confirmation - for every single person in our team who puts their heart and soul into ensuring that our guests really feel at home in Wesel every day.
