On 11 July 2026, the big day will finally arrive: Wesel will host its first Christopher Street Day. We’ll be there – as a sponsor, as a host, and with wholehearted conviction.
There are moments when a hotel is more than just a place to sleep. Moments when hospitality is a statement of principle. The 1st CSD Wesel on 11 July 2026 is one such moment for us.
Under the slogan ‘Never silent again’, the Wesel Association for Democracy and Diversity (Wesel für Demokratie und Vielfalt e.V.) invites everyone to come together and make a stand – for openness, for human rights, for an urban community in which everyone is free to be exactly who they are. From 3.00 pm, the colourful parade will wind its way from the Großer Markt through Wesel’s city centre to the Berliner Tor, where a diverse programme of stage performances awaits all participants.
Why we’re taking part
The Waldhotel Tannenhäuschen has always been a place of tranquillity, well-being – and connection. People from all walks of life come to us to relax, enjoy themselves and, for a moment, simply be themselves . This is precisely what connects us to what the CSD stands for: the freedom to be yourself.
That is why we are supporting the 1st CSD Wesel as a sponsor – not as a formality, but because we believe it goes without saying that diversity should be celebrated and made visible. Especially now.
A special guest at the Tannenhäuschen
To mark the occasion, we’re also welcoming a very special overnight guest this weekend: a drag queen who will be performing as part of the CSD programme at the Berliner Tor . For us, this is exactly what hospitality means – being open to everyone who comes to us. We’re looking forward to welcoming her and to this special evening.
A gesture that matters
CSD is not something to be taken for granted – it serves as a reminder that rights have been hard-won and must continue to be defended. Patrons such as Mayor Rainer Benien, the Wesel prince and princess, and Member of the State Parliament Charlotte Quik make it clear: this cause has reached the heart of our urban community.
We are proud to be part of this community – and look forward to sending a strong, colourful message together with Wesel.
